Unoma Okorafor Ph.D. - Founder & CEO
Born in Nigeria, Dr. Unoma Okorafor obtained her Master's degree from Rice University and her Ph.D. from Texas A & M University, both in Computer Engineering. Prior to founding Herbal Papaya, Dr. Okorafor worked as a software engineer and technical lead at the Education Technology Division of Texas Instruments. She has also worked in leading research labs including Intel, Hewlett Packard and IBM.
Unoma enjoys working on creative ideas and applying her software knowledge to implement highly efﬁcient and innovative processes and systems at Herbal Papaya. A 2013 recipient of the Anita Borg Institute Change Agent Award and the 2016 GEM Tech Award by ITU and UN Women, a graduate of INSEAD and Stanford University's Executive Program in Social Entrepreneurship, Dr. Okorafor is a passionate social entrepreneur and founder of the 501(c) non-proﬁt Working to Advance African Women (WAAW) Foundation, which promotes STEM education for girls in Africa. Continuing in her efforts to help and educate the world, Unoma participates in speaking engagements at events such as SXSW. She is passionate about healthy living and sharing her great love for papaya with people everywhere. She enjoys hanging out with her husband, three children and their dog Ruby!
Laura Callahan - Sales & Business Development Director
Born in Spokane Washington, Laura brings her cleaver wit and over 25 years of marketing and sales innovation, partnerships and leadership. Having worked with some of the most well known products and brands in the market, she is proud to represent such an amazing product line within Herbal Papaya. "The combination of healthy, sustainable ingredients that create such unique and beneficial products backed by the company's amazing story and dedicated team is a perfect win-win and I am thrilled I get to be a part of it everyday."
Laura and her husband have 4 boys ages 16-26. When you don't see her on a sports field, course or arena of some sort, you can find her trying out the newest recipe, listening to her son's music group or enjoying hiking and fishing in the beautiful Midwest.
Arina Boldt - Operations Director
Arina is an accomplished business leader with nearly 18 years of experience in healthcare administration. She earned her graduate degree in business administration from Marylhurst University and her undergraduate degree in marketing and business from Old Dominion University. She has successfully launched strategic plans, new programs, and facilitated process improvement changes. Arina also has had the privilege of coordinating a variety of health events, working on health literacy projects, and orchestrating employee engagement activities.
Arina enjoys connecting people with resources that will help them on their wellness journey. Her passion for health and wellness spills over to her friends and family. When she’s not working, she fills her cup by spending time with her husband and children. She has a love for nature and enjoys gardening and camping.
Lorraine Cook - Customer Care Manager
Jessica Boyster- Product & Supply Chain Manager
Born in California, Jessica graduated high school in 3 years, and went on to get her Bachelors degree, legal assistant certification, medical transcription diploma, and many other professional training's. She taught cardio-kickboxing, Pilates, and yoga for over 10 years, and is certified as a personal trainer. While sharing the importance of fitness and a healthy lifestyle through her teaching is a passion, Jessica has worked full time for high-profile entities as their Administrative Director, with duties including all areas of HR, budgeting, spokesperson, media director, and in-depth legal review.
Customer service and company appearance is not just a forte, but the key point of her focus. As a visionary she brings creative ideas to the Herbal Papaya product line in hopes to improve customer satisfaction, company image, and a healthier customer lifestyle. Sylvia Agamah-Ochidi – Marketing Manager
Born in Nigeria, she graduated from the University of Jos with a degree in Mass Communication. A highly ambitious and performance-driven B2B and B2C marketing professional with an unparalleled work ethic. Prior to Herbal Papaya, Sylvia built corporate brands in the media, telecommunication, education, and social enterprise industries in Nigeria.
Sylvia received the ‘Green Champion’ certificate award from the Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI) after organizing climate change awareness activities to enlighten Nigerian youths about environmental challenges and how to help the environment.
When she’s not working, she spends quality time with her husband and daughter. She has a love for interior and exterior designing.
Katrina Phillips - Design, Marketing and Media Associate
Katrina is from a small town in Oklahoma and graduated from Oklahoma State University with a degree in Graphic Design. After a year of contract and freelance design work, she found Herbal Papaya. She was initially drawn to the company because she has a passion to live a healthy and well balanced lifestyle. Katrina says, " I absolutely love the idea that I get to use my creativity to help promote a company that not only strives for health and wellness, but has such amazing values. What a neat thing to be a part of." When she isn't designing, she is using her creativity in the kitchen, practicing yoga, working in her garden, or spending time with her family.
Tammy Lawrence - Customer Service & Sales Associate
Tammy was born, raised, educated and resides on the small Caribbean island called Jamaica. Tammy graduated with a Bachelors of Science with Honors in Food Service management. Tammy has been working in the local hospitality industry for the past thirteen years. She has a love for nature and the outdoors. She has volunteered in several beach clean up projects to secure the environment for the future generations. Now, as a young mother of two, she aspires to feed and teach her children the natural, organic and healthy way to live.
