Unoma Okorafor Ph.D. - Founder & CEO
Born in Nigeria, Dr. Unoma Okorafor obtained her Master's degree from Rice University and her Ph.D. from Texas A & M University, both in Computer Engineering. Prior to founding Herbal Goodness, Dr. Okorafor worked as a software engineer and technical lead at the Education Technology Division of Texas Instruments. She has also worked in leading research labs including Intel, Hewlett Packard, and IBM. Unoma enjoys working on creative ideas and applying her software knowledge to implement highly efﬁcient and innovative processes and systems at Herbal Goodness. A 2013 recipient of the Anita Borg Institute Change Agent Award and the 2016 GEM Tech Award by ITU and UN Women, a graduate of INSEAD and Stanford University's Executive Program in Social Entrepreneurship, Dr. Okorafor is a passionate social entrepreneur and founder of the 501(c) non-proﬁt Working to Advance African Women (WAAW) Foundation, which promotes STEM education for girls in Africa. Continuing in her efforts to help and educate the world, Unoma participates in speaking engagements at events such as SXSW. She is passionate about healthy living and sharing her great love for papaya with people everywhere. She enjoys hanging out with her husband and three children.
Robert Smith brings over 30 years executive experience in various industries to the Herbal Goodness team. Robert has been an executive at Samsung and Apple as well as startups such as Infinite Power Solutions and most recently, American Metabolix, a sports nutrition company. Robert holds a BSEE from the University of New Mexico.
Chantal Umana is the Business Development Manager at Herbal Goodness. She graduated from the University of Central Florida with a Master's degree in Public Health Administration. Prior to Herbal Goodness Chantal served as the Director of Office Administration and the Executive and Human Resource Assistant at Lifenet Texas. Chantal is passionate about fostering healthy communities by specifically addressing mental health, hunger, and addiction. She leads an organic lifestyle and is the co-founder of an ecotourism company to encourage sustainable travel practices. Chantal believes that wholesome health in body and mind comes from good nutrition.
Lorraine Cook - Customer Care Manager
Lorraine brings over 25 years of sales and customer service experience to bear at Herbal Goodness. She is extremely passionate about connecting with people and building lasting relationships. Lorraine began her career with Associated Medical Products as a customer service manager before moving on to Experian Corporation, where she worked for over 20 years as a senior account manager. In her starting role, Lorraine was an on the sales and support team managing several categories of accounts. As a senior account manager, she oversaw major accounts including Ford, Toyota, Chase, Bank of America, Neiman Marcus and JC Penney.
Prior to Herbal Goodness, Lorraine was customer relations consultant, providing training to increase revenue for partner organizations. She has completed several high-level sales professional courses. Lorraine says, "By employing our creativity, challenging assumptions and constantly listening to our customers, we are helping to define the future of effective herbal remedies in the marketplace. I love to personally connect with customers and enjoy hearing their testimonials about how our products are helping them, and their feedback on what we can do better. I'm here to see things from the customers perspective. I always tell them, I am first and foremost on their side."
Jhoanna Stanners - Product Support Manager
Jhoanna is the Product Support Manager for Herbal Goodness. Born and raised in the Philippines. She graduated with a degree in Business Administration. Following university, she covered multiple projects relating to marketing and various market research projects. She believes and strongly support in Herbal Papaya’s mission to discover and provide premium super foods for healthy living. As a mother, Jhoanna always looks for the best diet she can ever give to her kids. Now, she is honored to be part of an organization that shares the same perspective
Rosemarlines Effiong - Digital Marketing Associate Rosemarlines is the Digital Marketing Associate at Herbal Goodness. Born in Nigeria, Rose is Graduate of Food Science and Technology from the University of Nigeria. Before joining Herbal Goodness, she taught at an all girl's school for one year. She was also a beneficiary of the She Hacks Africa Software Development and Entrepreneurship Training Boot Camp by WAAW Foundation, and received an award for Superior Dedication and Commitment to Group work. At Herbal Goodness, she creates effective Content and Email marketing campaigns. As a passionate content developer, Rose spends most of her free time curating content for her blog where she talks about issues surrounding disability.
She loves to get into the heads of successful young entrepreneurs and offers free SEO social media and digital marketing consultations to small local businesses.
Miriam Aboh - Creative Marketing and Branding Associate
Miriam is the creative marketing and branding associate at Herbal Goodness. She is a recent graduate from the Federal University of Technology, Minna Nigeria where she obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology. Prior to working with Herbal Goodness, Miriam worked at Ultimate Specialist Hospital as a laboratory scientist and also at Notore Chemical Industries, Nigeria where she served as a water analyst.
Miriam is a digital marketing professional with incredible marketing skills and has shown proven strengths in social media management such as improving the company’s social media engagement by a 700% growth increase. She is very passionate about giving back to her community and has received awards for her work with non-profit NGOs, particularly WAAW foundation where she served for 5 years as a volunteer in empowering over 700 Africa girls through STEM education. She is actively involved in community development services committed to environmental protection and sanitation. Miriam enjoys reading, traveling and learning about the different cultures in the world. She is passionate about helping people unlock their potentials and believes changing the world begins with the individual.
